I may be wrong but I had a feeling that some while ago IOLI 'asked

Hello!
I'm just now getting back into lacemaking after taking a ten year
childrearing break. My favorite style of lace is Bedfordshire. I've got
all the books and a few lovely pieces under my belt (before child) I
want to figure out a way to take an in-person workshop or class, but

There is merit in all the responses so far but I first of all agree with Sue
- exerting my right to be grumpy and grin but certainly when the topic
first came up I wrote an e-mail privately and hoped the matter could be
resolved within the organization. Yes IOLI is 'big' but
Hi,
I have just returned from the US and am getting slowly through my mail.
I tried to add my name to the Buddy map but it wouldn't accept my
input since I'm not on the map.

Hi Everyone,
Awhile ago someone posted a link to make bobbins using a dowel and beads
bought in the craft store.
Would someone please send me either the instructions, or a link to where I
could find the instructions.
I know I saved them, but since moving 2 years ago, I can't
Helene, if you go into the Arachne archives and type in Dowel bobbins

I snitched this from a beginning lacemaker's web page after googling for
'dowel and bead bobbin' - :
You can also make some yourself. One simple way is to get pony beads and
thin dowels that will fit snugly thorugh the centers of the beads. Cut the
dowel into 4-5 inch

Hi. You're not very far from The Lace Museum in
Sunnyvale, California. They sometimes hold Beds
classes and may have more than one person in their
files who teaches it. Or they may have a contact with
a nearby group who is having a class.
The other thing you might check out is the Winter
There is an event in Costa Mesa, California in January. I have not yet
been, but know a few people that have gone. They both raved about it being
very well put together. Holly Van Sciver is teaching all levels of Beds at
the event. Here is a link to the flyer:
