Don't fret over the calculations for the corners!! It's actually quite simple.
Just remember that each side has to reach beyond the edge of the handkerchief
to the edge of the lace around the corner... (does that make any sense?). So

I have collections of postcards from each of my grandmothers from around the
time of the first world war.
These include 8 embroidered cards sent in 1917 from somewhere in France to
my paternal grandmother from Tom whom she married in 1922 (at least I've
always assumed it was the same Tom!)
Also
I'm afraid all these solutions are for the thicker needles while the thinner
needles cause the most trouble.

Out of the woodwork again!
I have one of the blue threaders and found it really useful for ordinary
sewing. I havent used it for lace making but I would imagine it would work
the same. The only reason I have not used it for lace making is that I
havent done any lace making that has needed

What don't I do? I do anything and everything, short of weaving when it
comes to textiles/fiber. Not that I wouldn't like to weave but where would I
stick a loom? My house is already so overcrowded!!! Ah to weave an oriental

There's an article about Ernst in the OIDFA Bulletin #1 (Jan, Feb, Mar) 2008.
Have you seen it? He says in the article that his hometown is Arendal, but I
don't see any mention of an email address or home address. Surely the editor
of the OIDFA Bulletin can pass an email on to him.
