Dear Arachnids
Books on Demand sounds very interesting. I have been planning computer
printing and comb binding my Torchon Drafting book as I doubt if I would get
sufficient sales for a 1000 book print, but this sounds interesting. I have
had a look at the web site for Blackwells and it sounds sim

That's a nice pattern. The pattern would also work as a bookmark. At the
bottom point all the pairs could be made into a long braid with a tassel. It
is also a good beginner's pattern: it has a place to end, a place to start,
left curves and right curves for turning stitches on both sides a

Last February I believe it was, Susan from Erie, PA posted a mention
about the Great Lakes Fiber Festival which was held this past weekend

and I had an absolutely delightful weekend there and can't wait until
Didn't want to do a bookmark. So I drew up this design to give it a try
and see how it worked. I intended it to be a pendent for a necklace. Could be
anything. But thought I would share the pattern with you. It is just a tape
lace pattern.
Great design, Mark! Good use of the short

Hi All...
Relative to this thread, I was in my local needlework shop today and a
sales rep was there. Since there were no other customers (and the shop
owner is a friend), they didn't interrupt their business. I saw the
most beautiful array of the new "rayons"... meaning, fibers made from
Ah...that's right. Forgot. Thanks for the clarification. That is why it is
nice and smooth to the touch. But still has a good tooth for grabbing

A quick browse of the internet reveals that google books does have some
kind of an agreement with the Print on Demand, Espresso Book Machine. The
September 2009 Library Journal article says the following:

Being Dutch, I will have no problem reading them, even though they are in
Old Dutch spelling.

Good news! The four little Dutch books that came from the collection
of the mother of the lovely old man I met in New Brunswick the last
time I was there have finally found their way onto the Arizona
Archives site. They are beginner books, and have nice prickings and
diagrams. It is not
