I have just come back from Owen Sound, Ontario, where the local small group of lacemakers was joined by others from "away"--from southern Ontario, New Brunswick, me from Maine, and perhaps others whose names I didn't catch or can't remember just now. It was a lovely group of perhaps twenty

Brian, This is very similar to how I made my first 'homemade' bobbins. I still use them with thicker threads, as they were quite coarse/heavy. I now have a nice 14" lathe but rarely get time to use it. So many projects - so little time. Lorri F > > Yes, get appropriate dowel to suite the thick

I haven't made the tape, but did read the directions quite awhile back, and can't remember right now.  The mirror should work if you view your work from a mirror, with standard directions.  Many left handed knitters (who also knit from left to right) teach themselves that way.  I don't see how reve

I am off to teach a class so rushed, but looked up this from Nordic Needle: http://www.nordicneedle.com/free/RPL-cord.png The main point is to look at it conceptually, in that if you can do a SC, then do that left handed, and turn your work clockwise, working the next, etc. as the steps repeat.

[lace] lace and glue -- final report

Wanted to report that the glue problem is solved. The bookmarks are safe. One collar had a silk ribbon through a cucumber edge on the footside. The glue was only on the ribbon, so I removed it and will replace with new. That was easy. The two bookmarks were next. I tried my 'old faithful' m
