Dear Fellow Lacemakers -
In the past year and a half, I have lost 115 pounds and have given away much
of my wardrobe while enjoying purchasing new things. Now I buy clothes
instead of food. :)

see the exhibit From Goya to Sorolla, a visiting exhibition of 19th and 20th
century Spanish masters on loan from the Hispanic Society of America in
Manhattan.

Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers were having dinner at an expensive New York
restaurant. It was the place to be
U, right off hand I am tempted to call it an afficot (used to burnish
threads in a finished piece of needlelace). The hook at the end is a bit of
a puzzler but perhaps that is an artifact of a prior break in the bone.

While reading the newspaper this morning, I cam across a story of a local
farmer just getting ready to open his massive strawberry fields to the public
for pick-your-own delights. Now, spring is strawberry time in Tidewater
Virginia, so this is not particularly unusual. However,
I can think of two more candidates for the nominative determinism list:
Dr. Bird is a retired professor of ornithology at The College of William
Mary and Chris Moneymaker won the World Series of Poker a few years ago
(along with a lot of cash!).

While things are quiet, I thought I would pipe up and thank JoAnne for the
Arachne commemoratives this year. My 11th Anniversary bobbin came today and
it is a nice, sturdy, rather plain Midlands. However, I rejoice that it has a
proper hole! I like to use 24 gauge wire and many
