Andrew,
I'm afraid I don't know much about the Stake side of things since I am a
Ward Clerk. I assume that the Church has given Stake Presidents (and
Bishops) on the system based on membership numbers, but I don't know that
for sure. Here is the help system for Stake Presidents (you can chan

Our stake has been using the online missionary system for almost a year
and it works very well. All you need to do is the same thing that I did
with my Bishop. Your Stake President needs to have an lds.org account.
All he needs to do is log into the system and give you permission to login

I'm curious how involved your Ward leadership is in promoting the Ward
Website? I had one Ward that seemed to grasp it better than others,
and it happened when all the Leaders started using it and making it as
one of the primary means for members to get information. The members

One thing to keep in mind is that once an account is created, it stays with
that member through all the wards. Since I created my stake & ward web site
account, I've moved twice and been in one ward reorganization. I love
knowing my online registration is linked to my membership record.

As previously mentioned, the two biggest factors in my ward that cause
ward leaders to dismiss the usefulness of the ward website are 1) Lack of
support in MLS and the Ward Websites for *personal* phone numbers (cell,
work, etc..) and 2) Lack of user-friendly email lists.

On the subject of ward e-mail, here's my 2 cents.
Our ward is not active with the lds.org remailer, either. I have not seen
one that is -- other than those with unofficial e-mail lists on their PCs.
At first, church e-mail was seen as a novelty and a few early adopters and
the leaders logged on.

I agree with Greg that the email
subsystem of the ward website needs
an overhaul.
Since this probably is not going
to happen right away, I will address
each feature below, and how we
handle them in my unit while we wait
for the upgrade.

Hi All-
I apologize in advance if this is beating a dead horse for some of you.
This list is just one avenue I'm hoping the message can reach someone of
influence at HQ. Thanks for any fixes/enhancements you can make.
