Can this be done from linux (rather than windows?)

Thanks for the instructions, Chris!
It really helped.
I've copied everything and made the CF disk bootable. I can actually boot
now from it!
The problem I have now is that it boots, and when it's going to run init,
it barfs because it's expecting something in fd0.
I reconfigured syslinux.cfg s
Thanks!!! That worked out great.

Hi everyone,
I'm using the PC Engines CF - IDE adapter. The CF disk is properly
recognized as a small IDE disk.
I'm trying to figure out how to make it bootable. I thought maybe just
doing a dd from a working LRP floppy would work, but I was mistaken.
So I have a working LRP floppy with my conf
Hi Charles, hi mailing list members,
How can I configure a firewall on such a routed DMZ with the script in

I assume with updated versions of these, it would work? I also assume,
if I downgraded my install (see below) to 2.1, then I wou

Linux has all the tools needed (not sure about marking the partition
bootable though).
My personal preference on this sort of thing is a DOS boot disk
(created from Win9x).

Hi Ricardo,
I upgraded to a CompactFlash with IDE adapter yesterday.
I found the following HOWTO very useful.
http://lrp1.steinkuehler.net/Documentation/LRPHardDiskHOWTO.txt
I recommend you edit syslinux.cfg while you have it in /tmp
You can also download the kernal you need from Charles' websit
Same thing.
Dell Optiplex P133 with a large heatsink..In my naturally cooled 60
degree (F) basement.
the only thing left cooling it is the Power supply fan.

First you need to partition/format the CF just like any other drive.
You didn't say what size CF you're using, but I have had problems with
Syslinux booting from a partition larger than 32MB.
Once you have your FAT partition created (and set bootable), just copy
the contents of your floppy to t
Maybe, if you run it low and slow (low voltage and slow speed, that is).

Hi Dean, Hi Newsgroup, hi mailing list, hi Charles,
Thanks to all who helped me sorting this one out.
It was quite simple in the end: A basic 2.9.8 LRP distribution with
all masquerading options turned off did the trick.
