It depends on how much power is needed from the power supply.  I am currently using an old 486 dlc 40 mhz Cyrix machine as my LRP.  I left the cooling fans running in the tower case.  Since the 486 is in the back room of my house I hardly notice the noise from the fans.  If I did object to t
