Sorry I didn't mention these early enough to be looked at for rc3, but
I noticed the following two issues (may not even be problems in rc2!).
1) syslinux.cfg on bootdisk.bin has "boot=/dev/fd0,msdos"
According to the docs, that should read "boot=/dev/fd0:msdos"
2) backup doesn't work quite right
I've been messing with the weblet logs in
EigenSteinB2, trying to figure out how to get them to
show up in the weblet along with messages.log and the
others. There seem to be some interacting problems
with this, though.
If I move the weblet sh-log's into /var/log,
everything works peachy until th

Of course, most of these anomalies are probably inherent in most other
versions of LEAF/LRP; but, this is the version I am using to debug and
solve these issues.

It's been a long time since I've been to weather.com (because of
the irritating popups, and overuse of graphics and applets), but

Brad, when you go to Weather.com, do you happen to notice one of those
stupid "pop-under" ads from x10.com?
I've checked, double checked, and triple checked this a number of times -
the culprit is ads.x10.com. Every time I see this ad, I check my lrp.
Consistently, this is the onlysite for me th

Hi all,
I have written a shell script to automatically creates data useful in
diagnosing LRP/LEAF problems. Just choose the kind of trouble that
you are having and it will produce diagnostic output that you can
include in your email to this list for help. It is based on the

Thank you for the suggestions.
I did try to boot the machine with a blank floppy. In my case the machine
just refused to boot at all. My BIOS setting is A, then CD then hard-disk C.
There is no other setting with CD. Over the weekend I will try on my real
router. I could not do that now because i

You have the classic problem of making the network neighborhood work across
two network segments. You could use a WINS server (or the WINS support in
nmbd in samba) and point all machines to that, or do the poor man's version
& forward all UDP137 & UDP138 to the other LAN. The latter solution woul
Greg and Etienne,
This is exactly the kind of information I was looking for. I will post back
when I have it working, and hopefully, I can add a detailed how-to to the
project.

I found the same thing in my logs yesterday. I was worried I had my name

I just burned rc3 and shoved it in the router. I received the "Run
Level" prompt. I rebooted with a blank floppy, and the router starts
up properly.
