Just a dumb thought, I had a similar problem, i.e. I lost outside access could not ping nor web surf. I found that the problem was my cable modem and not my lrp box nor the network cards in it. If I unplugged my cable modem and let it sit for around a minuite and simply plugged my cable modem back
