Rechecked my configuration, decided to take the cable
modem offline 20 minutes instead of the previous 5 - I
am now answering this off my windows box thru the
firewall. Thanks to all who helped...

Let's see if we can't do this right...
I'm using leaf-bering-1.0-stable
(rest is after the post)
The modules/2.4.18/net/tulip.o drivers resulted in the
following:
#insmod tulip
> Using /lib/modules/tulip.o
> insmod: unresolved symbol pci_drv_unregister
> insmod: unresolved symbol pci_drv_register
This should be part of documentation - if you are
using unknown NICs, download, install, & run Brad
Fritz' lspci.lrp
Ran lspci & insmod, results below. Could be a
dependencies issue, but how can I tell? Also, I keep
looking at modules.pcimap - would installing that in
/lib/modules do anything?
Moved the NICs to a P233, tried configuring my Netgear
FA310TX w/natsemi drivers as well as tulip. Chmod on
both downloaded drivers to 644 - convinced I am
missing something on configuration. Is there
anything else 'required' to configure on the shorewall
side, perhaps? Frustrated, because I ca
Sorry, Erich - always assumed that error came because
I keep swapping floppies before doing a umount /mnt:
>Nov 24 23:42:01 firewall kernel: floppy0: disk absent
>or changed during operation
& I thought I tried w/a different floppy. Then again,
it won't hurt to run thru it again properly unmount
First of all, a serious thanks to Minh & Victor for
trying to help. The powers that be restored both
tulip.o & netsami.o to the downloadable modules,
answering those questions, & 1 of you answered my
question regarding pci-scan.o. But my leaf-bering is
still not up, & what bothers me about that
Running leaf-bering-1.0.stable.
