Another option is Settle /Carlise line get off Ribblehead station  and stay at the Station Inn  which is next to rail line ,it also has a bunkhouse and does good food.  A walk down to Chapel -le -dale and visit to The Hill Inn worth while .walk is between Inglebough and Whernside.
