Sounds neat.
I see no gears.or linkage for turning IN these draft pictures. Is this design
made to follow a template? You said it in not designed to be a CNC, so can you
give us some more info. Dose the head stock have its own motor for better
turning?

No foreplay, this has the standard Legacy gear set up and I assume at this
time Andy will add a Template Follower of some description. These are
drawings from the design software.

Ok here is my input.
make this unit have a carriage that can tilt 90 deg. so you can cut bowls end
grain. (turning bowls are a big market for most turners.)
give it a motor drive.and make a gear for finer movement.
Make the Z axis so that it can free float on a
dont worry too much curt what ever it wont do we will make it do like we did
with the old machines :)
