So this will be driven by what? a standard drive screw, or one of Legacy
rack-on-pinion drive units? Dose this unit come with motor controls?
I thank you for your quick response Roger.
What I'm asking is, More control of the wood and cutting action,If Legacy is
going to move into a small home hobbiest type of package unit. They have to do
it with high quality and precision movement. So far everything sounds good. but
I am still looking for something more...
I don't know? NEW?
something more. sellable.

  Sorry Curt

No foreplay, this has the standard Legacy gear set up and I assume at this
time Andy will add a Template Follower of some description. These are drawings
from the design software.

  Roger

  Hello Roger

  Sounds neat.

I see no gears.or linkage for turning IN these draft pictures. Is this design
made to follow a template? You said it in not designed to be a CNC, so can you
give us some more info. Dose the head stock have its own motor for better
turning?

The Z axis looks neat. having the head stock tilt is very Kool! but without
the gears or linkage to control the spindle,it dose not sound very promising.

Come on Roger, if you are going to tease us, You have to have a little bit
more foreplay here. ;-p

  I need more!?. ;-)

Subject: A sneak peak at the new Legacy Manual Machine

    Hi guys

It is time for a sneak peak at the new Legacy manual machine code named
ROBIN!

Why Robin, well first of all it is back to the corporate RED and the robin
is a proud little bird and why not let us get away from numbers?

That said, Andy may change that and call it something else, REVO II seems
good to me.

Brief specification for ROBIN, 36" between centres, 9" in diameter and
about 11" on the flat and it will include a Z Axis as standard and take a Bosch
1617 Router Motor, and please note the Z Axis can move 15 degrees either way in
the X Axis and 5 degrees in the Y Axis.

You can feed work through the side of the machine, across the X Axis, with
a work piece profile of about 8" x 2" by whatever length you want.

Other changes that Andy has done include an improved carriage bearings,
pivot point at Head Stock end only and it accepts a 2MT Tail Stock so you can
fit a revolving tailstock or a Steb Centre.

Projected price, but not set in concrete, is circa $1,650.00 to $1,800.00
and unlike the old REVO & 900 that it is set to replace it will not be an
Erector Set project, more an IKEA flat pack assembly job.

The thoughts of the group would be appreciated and I will try to answer any
questions and before you ask the 36" is the length limit on this machine and it
is not designed to be CNC.

    Regards

    Roger--
