I would use that and also drill a hole through from side to side behind the
cap screw and use a small bolt to pull it and hold it together for extra
strength

Hello All,
The Legacy Evolution is now listed as the only product on
www.legacywoodworking.com. We now have the awesome responsibility of
keeping the pre-Evolutionary ornamental mills alive. And someone must
join Roger and go out today and order an Evolution and become a ready expert
I'll put my two cents in on that. ;-) (excuse the pun.)
Why dont we all put a collection in, and buy one for Tim? After all the work
he has done on this group. as well as he would be the best suited to catalog
all the parts and keeping good records.
Just a thought?

Mac,
I like your explanation; however, I think there is an economic explanation
which is not as colorful. Lie-Nelson no longer attends WW shows but now has
their own shows at locations around the US and Canada. I assumed that the
downturn in the economy was the main problem, but I was
I was setting up the booth for Howard Cty. Woodworking Guild fri before the
show in Balt. And had a few minutes to talked to Andy. He said the Evolution
would be priced just under $3000.

You never know?
Think of it as a donation to the group , but if everyone in the group put in
$10.00? it sounds to me like a cheap way to keep things moveing. I dont want to
get to carried away with this idea , but with a cash flow (small fee), movies
/training videos could be made,making
Let's get carried away!!! We should get Legacy to donate one to the
group as a sales promotional devise. if this group is sold, their sales
will rocket! It's cheaper than the expense of show, ship, wages. They
would only have write off their cost of manufacturing.

There is no glue that will work with Delrin. I would think there is room to
drill and tap a hole sideways that would pinch the part together. Otherwise I
would make another part. Is the part actually loose right now? You might try
using a larger washer to spread the load a little and see
Hi Brandon,
Magnate.net carries Dynaglide as well as a few other online vendors. I would
not consider anything else. A can will last a year or more if your just using
it on the legacy. When you find out how great it is around the shop it might
go faster. :-)
The silicon will not hurt
You guys are killing me. I'm shaking my head and laughing at the same time. I
will admit I've been told I'm a hell of a salesman for Legacy even though I'm
not associated with them.

Thanks for the ideas. I've come up with several more. I like the reinforcement
screw idea, but also considered a hose clamp to wrap around an provide support.
I haven't checked to see if one would fit, but I don't think it would be as
effective as the screw. I thought about using a washer or
Haven't posted in some time now...probably 'cause I haven't used my 900 in
quite awhile. I have a question or two if you don't mind. I am interested in
the Legacy MiniArty but have some concerns. Well one main one for now. Does
anyone here have one? That concern is the 18 limit on spindles.
You could add a plate and instead of altering both sides and the split nut
just remove the amount of material from the support block that is the same
thickness of the plate. If you are capable of doing that much, you should
be able to make a block from scratch. :-)
I'm also skeptical about the
Hello,
The Arty 36 is not twice the price of the arty, especially with a router.
One is $7000, the other is $10,500. That difference in price allows you
turn chair, table, island legs, pedestals, and many more things that go up
to a diameter of 11 inches rather than 5. The Mini-arty can do 18
I have a 900 CNC that I need to sell. I just don't have time and it is sitting.
Will make a good if you pay for shipping.

Tim's suggestion is exactly what I was thinking. As a matter of fact I will probably do the same on mine. The other "suggestion" I was going to offer was to see if you can get a washer or two/three to fit between the bottom of the Delrin® and the top of the sliding nut plate. You don't want so

I have used that loctite glue before good stuff but only if there is no load
on the joint without a strengthening cross way bolt or screw it will break
again when you tighten it no glue will glue as strong as the original
material, in wood I would say yes but in the plastic ,delrin type stuff no
