Tail stock connection

Hey Curtis, yes the plate was installed incorrectly and the Zirt was between the plate and the screws instead of on the opposite side of the plate. I haven't taken it apart yet, but I can see the Zirt on the screw. I can't get the screw loose, so Ill have to take the back end apart to slide out

Believe it or not the PEM (Nut Zirt) is more like a pop rivet than anything else. The Nut/Zirt/PEM is stronger than just using a taped piece of alum. If you can get the nut off the screw, you can put the nut back in its hole and tack wield the piece back in place. You know this is something th

Brandon, You might be able to press the insert back into the plate. Use a vise and pinch the insert into the plate. Just look at another one of the plates to see how it goes, it's not exotic. Personally I would buy a new one. Get a few extras, they come in handy for all sorts of things. Legac
