Bill (and others),Here is a handy chart showing world-wide time zones. It will probably be helpful for other "overseas" LOM owners.http://www.worldtimezone.com/Hope it helps.Mac-Original Message-

I'll take a list of anonymous questions for Legacy if you feel uncomfortable
asking. Just send them to my i...@ornamentalmills.com email address. Use the
subject "Discussion Questions".

What would be the step by step way to attend the meeting? Web address

I know I'm not the best at computers and none of us want to miss this if we
can and hopefully it will be a regular event.
Ok dumb question here? 4:00 PM Mountain time what the hell is Mountain time

One point to pursue/ask in the session is: "What parts, component assemblies, and accessories do the Evolution and our (legacy) manual mills share/have in common." (Even talking nuts, bolts, and bearings here.)I want to know what parts & accessories on/for the Evo will work on my LOM 1000/1200.Mac
Thank you John
You still have to be careful using this method as well on contoured shapes, If
you set your stops on the high side of a tapered spindle you will loose contact
with the wood at the low spot, and if you set your stop to the low spot, and
are not using a bearing, you will cut to deep
Hello All,
This is a good first move, and I understand that Legacy wants to talk most
about what it's offering now--the Evolution and the CNC machines.
Given that only 20 minutes will be available to talk about older machines,
we should try to reach some consensus on the issues relating to them.
Hello Brandon (And everyone.)
One more thing you should think of before you put your unit back together.
The vibration of the machine can loosen the bolts up,(which you already found
out.) I would suggest to you, to put a drop of lock-tight on the threads of the
bolts/screws.(Blue is removable.)
One suggestion I have for anyone planning on asking any questions would be to
send the question in to legacy so they have time to prepare and get you the
best answer, not just the fast answer. Another suggestion would be for the
group to get the questions together and then all of them get sent
Reeds on a tapered spindle...
Way to much overthinking going on so I thought I would pipe up and tell you
how Tracy taught me to reed tapered parts.
After the spindle is tapered:
1- re-level the bed (once the bed is level the center plane is now level
with the bed. the top is now tapered but that
Well, I was able to get into the shop last night and work on the tail stock
issue (also took the opportunity to fix my twisting elevator problem too).
First, I found that the head stock was loose, not sure why, but lucky that
didn't create its own problem. Second, I found that both plates at t
Crap! Sorry guys, I won't be able to attend at that time. I have a
conference that week and will still be in a class at that time. I don't
remember if a format was mentioned, but it is possible to record and upload
the session for later viewing? I believe Go-to-Meeting will allow you to do
this
Hi folks,
I have been absent from these comms with Legacy for some time, am I the
only one who may need to know how to actually make this comm work. ie. do I
have to log on to the legacy site, is this via Skype or what, sorry to be
so ignorant but I would like to involve myself but I just don't kno
OK guys, here's the plans for our on-line meeting with Legacy.
The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 5th at 4:00 PM Mountain time.
Andy, Tracy and John will attend from Legacy. Because of their travel for
the Woodworking shows, this was the only option to get time with them.
I think that
Hello Brandon
I cant wait to see what you come up with.
As far as using the template and setting it up, I would do it the way you
describe.I dont see any problems with that set up.
Good luck on your project, take a lot of pictures!
Have a good day.

I think all you need is a spacer or set up block to make parallel to the x
axis. Just set it between the template and the rail.

Thanks for the info. I considered using a template, but that raised another
question. Is there a reliable method for setting up the straight edge to
ensure it is perfectly parallel to the spindle? My initial thought would be
to rest the bearing against the side of the spindle, then place the
