Hello All,
FYI: There is someone selling a new 500 for $1700 on ebay. Having bought
one last year, for $600 with a lot of bits, I can tell you this one is
highly overpriced

Hello All,
To make a plan entasis column on a 1800, I would think that the two
challenges would be:
1. Finding when you should begin to taper while rounding and the proper
angle.
2. To find the proper thickness of the birdsmouth spars to allow for a two
in or so difference in diameter when
Hello Begat
You bring up some good points, I was thinking of solid, but depending on the
size a hollow turning would be better, I have a birdsmouth

Crazy.NOT for a 500!
It has plastic bushings in the headstock, Plastic gears ( only two pitches
possible If I remember correctly.) NOW if it had one of those water cooled
Wispier routers that sell for $1500. then we may
David those are nice.
Even in miniature, fine wood working stands out. ;-)

Could you do the birdmouth on the mill too would that be easier than running
long lengths of timber over the router table or saw bench to do the
birdmouth joints

Tim how long will it be before legacy keeps their promise and sends you your
new evo Mill have they given you a delivery date yet?
I'm sure were all very interested in your opinion on how easy it is to put
together and how it performs etc.
I would like to say again how great it was of legacy to
Hello Bill
I dont know if the Legacy would be the best choice for that job? Yes it could
be done, But...?
I know the Mike dose his on the table saw and thay turn out with no problems. I
have never done a tapered hollow birdsmouth. but as I read it, It looks to be
rather simple, cut the flat and

One more short note.
I agree with you about the Donated EVO mill. That is Awesome!
But Its the RD that I want to see. My bet would be that those Lin. rails will
need some kind of break or ??? to keep the router from taking off like a rocket
while free hand cutting.
I also belive that
Yes curt I agree sometimes a little stiffer is better but not too stiff .,a
motor dive too would be good hopefully extras are to come like a rotary
table, motor drive and some sort of template follower and being all metal
and standard extrusion it wouldn't be too hard to add length to it.
