Hi Mac The Grissly unit looks very much like the type that used to be fitted to the Legacy Z Axis, in fact it looks a dead ringer and that is going back 8 to 10 years. The Wixey is obviously better quality, I have used a number of their items but not these although one or two customers did use

Thanks Max,The real "plus" for the Wixey device is that the connecting wire is not "wired in" to either the sensor or readout.  Instead it uses a computer network wire (replacement wire easily bought anywhere in various lengths) that plugs in to the sensor & readout unit.  I hate small wires "perma
