1/2 inch cutter .5x16starts =8inch pitch move the split nut 2 threads each

places out there that for a fee, they can copy the vhs to dvd. no idea of
cost but
On a job like that, normally what I do is figure the pitch, Let's ay you
will be doing an 8" pitch. That means within the 8 inch run you will
need 16 starts and measuring down the length they will be a 1/2" long.

I agree the locking collar with a pin is an excellent idea and effective.
I said awhile back (I think on my face plate video) that a 1"-8 TPI nut cut
down to make narrow to fit on the head stock threads would be an adequate
