Thanks Tim. I'll put things on pause until I get the right fix. The split-nuts with the threads do have the shoulders. The carriage is probably too stiff. I'll check to see whether it's the bushings. I'll also give a closer inspection to the acme and the screws. I'll take the advice to hear
