Thanks Tim I have the single locking collar for the chuck, have tried that with the chuck and all is o.k. I am well aware of morse tapers having bought and sold quite a few metal working lathes. The best one of all of them was a VDF German made lathe See http://www.lathes.co.uk/ Cheers Richard

Hi Bill I know I only bought the 900 for the leadscrew and rails, but it is in a bit of a state. It has a single locking collar with the male morse with drive dog welded on and nothing else.Lots of other things that have been put together wrongly. even the stick-on label on the headstock is

What make you think the 2MT will slip - they don't on a lathe which has much high rotational forces placed on it then a 900. On Saturday, 3 August 2019 10:41:11 UTC+1, Richard Ellis wrote: > > I have just put together my shortened 900 However I am not to impressed > with the head stock 2 morse.

That’s what the double locking collar is for screws on to the headstock and locks on to what ever is in the morse taper Bill From: legacy-ornamental-mills@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Richard Ellis Sent: Saturday, 3 August 2019 7:41 PM To: Legacy Ornamental Mills Subject: 2 Morse Taper
