NTI is a software program which backs up disks. It
is called NTI CD and DVD maker 7. Came with my lap top!

This may be the problem.
If you are trying to open the file on the CD, you can't as you can't
write to the CD from Legacy.
You have to copy the file back to your hard drive.
If you have put it back on your hard drive, you may need to change
the file attribute from Read Only by right c
With the talk again about making back ups I decided to try
a CD back up. As the entire file was too large for one CD I backed
up 'data' and other selected files. I used the system described
below.

or even the same machine.

I recently discovered that my G Grandfather changed his name and year of
birth some time before he married my G Grandmother.
I am wondering how I can record that as it isn't just a matter of using AKA
the year difference interferes with that.

In Legacy you have a choice of including Baptism amongst the
birth/death events OR with other events like Graduation.
You also have the choice, when including it in the birth/death events
section, of calling it Baptism or Christening.
