Legacy User Group
I've just joined this list and want to know
immediately if there is a way to receive messages in digest form rather than one
at a time. If so, how do I make the change and if not, why not.
Keep Lookin' UP

Hi Pat, Welcome. Sorry but the answer is no because the servers won't allow
it. You can minimise the effect, of course, setting your email program to
put LUG messages in their own folder and by setting the sort to be by
subject.

The beginning training video talks about the importance of Research
Logs, then goes on to talk about the To Do List. Does that mean that
you can use the To Do List as a research log? Do any of you do that

I wonder if anyone else has had this happen? I just
created a Focus Group to split off a section of my database so I could create a
new Family File. (Only reason I had to do it was that I wanted to create

Kay,
Following a reinstallation of Windows onto a new drive you will find that
none of your programs work as they are no longer in the registry and all
will need to be reinstalled, not just Legacy, and not just the updates.
Presumably you have already given you old drive (now the slave) a new
It sounds as if you just copied the Legacy program files, rather than
installing the software again - that will never work and probably accounts
for the error you got. By not installing the software, then Windows doesn't
know the program exists and so doesn't have all the hooks in place to run
it.
I am using Legacy 6.0.0.82 Build date 10th February 2006.
I have been busy this year with a project that is near complete, and so this
morning thought I would bring my Legacy to date again.
Went to - Legacy Home, clicked Updates it seems to have proceeded okay as

Margaret,
A few users, especially those with slower connections, are reporting
problems downloading the latest build. The update this time is really huge
and with patience, it would continue installing.
Go to our website at http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/DownloadUpdate.asp and

Hi Jan,
The Mrs must be in the file as either the Title Prefix OR in the Alt Name.
Have you checked the data for those particular women?
When you find where the Mrs is, you might check
your original file to see whether it is also there.
Another way of checking is to run the same report
