I am having a problem with entering a specific date period for an
event. The period is 1 B.C. till 11 A.D. I am using the Dutch version
of Legacy6 De Luxe (pre-release). I have tried entering in all
concievable combinations B.C. before, after, etc. with, or without
dots, 4 digit years. Every

If the Husband or Wife label is blue, it means that person is marked as
Living.
My husband wife labels are always blue regardless of whether the
person is marked as Living or not.
Can someone please explain what I'm missing here? I'm assuming they are

Have you tried setting the format in the 'dates' tab on the customise
screen? You can set the format of 'BC' at the bottom on the right.

There is no need to buy Access. The Open Office Base component will do
pretty much the same thing and the Calc component will do the same as Excel.
OIpen Office is Open Source Software and is, therefore, Free.

to sort the name index other than by RIN, Surname or Given name which is a

Sound or Video. It is a klunky workaround but the Sound icon could be
replaced to make it look less inappropriate. An added advantage of doing it

in Child List (bold), but I just noticed, when looking at names in the
Index view that one of my 3rd Great Grandfathers was not displaying
bold. Every other direct line-relative in that line and my other lines

I'm hoping someone knows how to correct this. When I print my family history
in book form the notes are printing out on the same lines as the other
information. Example on an event:
Census: 1860 Federal Census, Jun 8, 1860, Eaton Rapids, Eaton County,
Michigan (the notes portion starts right here

line relative, eg from Gedcom or Family Search, the highlight doesn't work.
UnLinking and relinking solves it for me.

The best I can tell you is that we have a lot of Legacy users and beta
testers who have been running Legacy under Vista beta. At this point, the
only problem reported has been with the Help files since they're in the .hlp
format which Vista doesn't support and Microsoft has fallen through
Legacy must be installed on all computers that you plan to work on the file
with. And only one person can be editing the Family File at a time. You
shouldn't have any problem with what you described.
Do make sure you do regular backups! Go to

http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/article07-500. Basically it
involves replacing the WinHlp32.exe file in Vista with that from XP.

but that is OK and I do not have a problem with that. I just use other tools
