Legacy uses the pictures you have on your computer. If it put a copy of
the picture in its own database, the picture would be on the hard drive
twice and use twice as much disk space. (Some genealogy programs do keep
a copy internally.)
Legacy doesn't need a 300dpi scan of an 8x10 photo (20MB or

You need the .usr files you had before. I don't know how you are restoring.
You need to close Legacy and then copy the .usr files from wherever
you saved your old folders into the new Legacy program folder and
