How do I do this?

Hi Harold,
You need the .usr files you had before. I don't know how you are restoring.
You need to close Legacy and then copy the .usr files from wherever

Back in June of 2006 I ask you this question:
I use Legacy to store GPS Locations.
I wish Legacy would give the choice of weather to store Lat and Long in

I know there is a conversion routine, but it would be nice to be given a

I am new to Legacy and subscribed to the emails (tons of them) and after

Truthfully, you probably don't need all the bells and whistles in the program -
unless you want to use them. I use the basic portions of the program and
haven't gotten into a tenth of the stuff that everyone else uses in the program.
It's a great program, easy to use for the basics.
Hi Marilea,
Legacy has a lot of features. If you try to learn all the features of
a big program all at once, every program is too complicated.
Most people find the basics of Legacy easy to use.
It's a good idea to take the time to look at the Tutorials in the

Hold on - it's not that difficult ;-)
Entering data in Legacy is easy, it's just the details that get complex -
and part of the complexity comes from the flexibility in Legacy that
allows each person to structure things in a way that works for their
research/documenting style.

Hi Carol,
Put small copies of your pictures on your hard drive and have those
linked to Legacy. You don't have to redo the linking if the small
copies have the same names as the large archive copies. For most uses
in Legacy, a picture only has to be a maximum of 800 pixels wide. I

Hi Tish,
The licence for Legacy allows you to use it on two different
computers, I don't know about GenViewer.
You need to install the programs on the second computer so you need
the program installation files.
If your second computer isn't online, you need to copy the

Hi Marilyn,
I'd hold off on charting programs until Legacy 7 comes out which
we've been told includes charting.
I have Legacy Charting Companion - it creates some pretty charts but
you have no control over placement apart from playing with box size
and scaling.

I've been using Legacy off and on over several years. (Part of the off
