I am a beta tester, and I am NOT a member of the Church, any church for that
matter. I simply volunteered when the call for testers came out and was
chosen shortly thereafter.

Slow down folks.
This is a Beta site - and is limited to a few testing areas - which
includes members, FHC volunteers who are members AND non-members.
That is just for the testing period.
Forecasts vary - but it is expected that the Beta test will be over by
the Fall and that the site will go pub
I don't know about you all, but I've done better finding information at
rootsweb than at familysearch. And RW is easier to maneuver through...
The only problem I've found it rooting for good solid information.

The "Prepared by" is in the report settings for your report.

Hi users
I have created a focus group (blood relatives) and need to know whether it
is possible within Legacy (or MS Access?) to create a list of all locations
used within this group (probably includes BMD and events) which I can export
to a txt/csv file.

I signed up to participate in the pilot program in December and was
accepted. They did not ask if I was an LDS member. They are looking for
feedback on their system. I have not yet had the opportunity to try it.

I was able to use the new search thingie and I am not LDS.
The restriction of the new FamilySearch to LDS members is not some secret
plan to gain new members. The whole system is *primarily* designed to reduce
the vast amount of duplication in LDS temple ordinances. It is a huge and
technologically complex project and still has a lot of bugs to work out

Reg,
I hate to burst your bubble so to speak, but this is just like a beta
release of software. It is only available to a limited number of people at
first. It will be available for free to the entire world at some point.

The new site is strictly in beta right now being tested and as such
access has been listed to certain members for testing purposes while the

The fact they were going to do a phased rollout has been publicized
numerous times. There are several reasons for that

Thanks for your encouragement. I tried it several times. No luck.
Finally, I "included" all the options, reset and saved and that
worked. So then, I disincluded all the ones I didn't want, reset and
saved, and that fixed whatever I was doing wrong.
