Frances,
I've seen some posted family trees that mention in the tree description that
sources are available on request. Might be an easier way to take care of this.

Frances,
Try this. When you get to the Export gedcom screen, click
Customise, and under Export these items, remove TEXT. I just

It has no idea what you are calculating - Select Date is designed to fill in

I routinely do this when I add the text as I often quote an
entire email and don't want that to be made public.

Thanks to all. I was able to get the list by searching for an Event
Description (Twin). However, from these responses, I can see that the
proper way to record the Twin status is as Child Status, so I've
learned something (again).
Thanks.

I don't think that is possible. You can edit your Gedcom in any word processor,
even Notepad.

I entered it as an Event/Facts, then chose Birth Fact and put Twin in
the Description field. Can it be searched this way, or do I need to
use one of the two methods you list here (or Ron's suggestion, which I
think assumes I'm entering it as a child status?

Hi Barbara,
I'll answer your second question. If you click on View-Childrens List,
you can highlight a child, then select a Child Status for them. I
select Twin. (If it isn't a default, you can make a new entry called
Twin.) Next, you can search for Individual - Child Status - Equal to

Barbara,
When you say you entered it as a birth fact, do you mean in the Birth Notes? If
so, you could do a search for Individual->birth notes->contains->twin.
I enter twin status as a child status and I see that you can search by that
field also.

If I have listed Twin as a Birth Fact, is there a way to search for
all twins in my file (there are many)? If not, is there a way to
document that someone is a twin in such a way that they can all be
located?
Thank you,
Barbara
