Tried to do a Maintenance File Backup, and got an error 3021 Something about
a Marriage List. What do I do? Have a date of file from 02 09 and tried to
change it to 02 14 with no luck. I think I do have some older files . . .
do I need to go back? What do I look for?
Go to the Legacy Home tab and select Online Troubleshooting Help on the new
screen select solutions by Error Number and then Error 3021
If you do not have the delux version go to Legacy's Home Page and then as above.

Thank you, Ron and Cathy,
Sounds like you all persisted until you came up with the answer!
I'm sure it would've been much easier for you if I could have been
clearer with my descriptions (with my lack of understanding of child
list and main entry). I am learning, thanks to the patience of folks
If you use the Chronology View, or Report, I think it's rather nice to have
the census info display in it. Gives you a good quick overview of the

Barbara, Yes, they are called Privacy brackets (probably more detail
if you search in Help for them). Lots of us use them in all sorts of
ways. I put much of my research data into brackets, and when I want to

I think Gene suggested you could delete the brackets afterwards
because he presumed at some point you would want to see the name in a

This is EXACTLY what I needed--I just tried the double brackets, on
the Individual View, putting double brackets around her given name and
then another set around her surname. In the report, it just says

This doesn't normally happen with any form of scan on a computer but
