I usually put information in privacy brackets so the name of a woman with an unknown maiden name would look like this...Jane[[wife of John Brown]]. This helps me by reminding me that I still need to find her maiden name and indicate the relationship to known people while at the same time allowi

I have been using the husbands name in brackets for any unknown maiden names. For example Anna married to John Smith would be entered as Anna (Smith). They are easy to find in the index and useful for any census or other searches. It works for me but I'm not sure what other problems this could c
