Hi Jess, Depending on the condition of the Bible and the binding, it may not be possible to scan it. I'd make sure I had a digital camera and check the photos are sharp before you leave. It does help to have a tripod for this type of photography but I usually just check I've got a sharp

It helps establish the time period of the bible and the printing method (helping establish provenance) on old bibles those are usually the most adorned and well printed pages in the bible. Just helps you to authenticate it later and know that it is a bible from that time frame. Allen Jess

My advice, pull out every bible your family got. Have a look for any thinkg you didnt notice before. After 60 odd years of my father in laws bible hiding in a drawer, his daughter showed it too us and we found his army serial number in it. This alone has given us a huge history of his regiments
