If I do want anything about some Living people or anyone else then I prefer
to do it by making a copy of my file then deleting them using Search /
Advanced Tagging / Advanced Deleting.

You can, of course, mark them "Private" in which case they will not be shown as
"Private" with no details, provided "show private events" is not selected when
compiling reports. There is a box for this on the Individual Screen.
