Helen, Legacy is built on Access, I think which means they won't be building for Linux, sad to say. I use Linux Ubuntu Intrepid and installed Virtual Box just so I could run Legacy. It does just fine. But when I switched to Linux, I was torn between Linux with no Legacy or Windows with Legacy.

Paul, have you looked at the Wine AppDB list? Someone has successfully installed Legacy 7 using Wine 1.0-rc4 on openSUSE 10.3 (see http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=applicationiId=3207). They might have some insight for you. Also on that list it appears that Legacy 5 works well

Legacy requires Windows or a very good emulator. It *might* be possible to run Legacy on a Linux box IF you can get a version of WINE for the Linux box and IF Legacy works OK under WINE (I don't know because I haven't tried it). Unless someone can verify that this configuration will work, the

John, As far as I know there is not a version of Legacy which will run on a Linux system. The Legacy database is an Access database ie. Microsoft. I too have looked at getting one of these laptops (and not only because of the price) but not being able to run Legacy and its associated products

Hi John I replaced Linux with XP on my Asus EEPC specifically to run Legacy Genota. I have been using it for research in the field for about 2 months now and it has proved a great combination. Carrying a full copy of my Legacy data definitely beats using a PDA (my IPAQ has been shelved).
