IMHO,  FHL Film Number.   means to me it is the number assigned by the FamilySearch people for their sourcing information,  (they renumbered the US census films, for example), and  Film ID refers to the film number that any provider creates for its product, or the number I assign it in MY

Melanie, The Film ID is the repository's method of describing/identifying the film, such as FHL microfilm for the Family History Library. When the Film ID is not automatically filled in for you by the SourceWriter, there will be some sample text in the field giving you an idea of what to fill
