Use the AKA feature. Any other way brings considerable difficulties when trying to find someone in the index. I look after a database of 65000+ names and have learned from experience that the KISS system applies - keep it simple. > What do you do about surnames that may have many variations.

What you need to do for the people you have entered more than once is use the Merge feature. If you have the RIN numbers handy, you can do a manual merge, or you can do an automatic merge and it will look for people that might be the same. For each possible match, you can review the information
