I am in the process of entering information from a GEDCOM created by a group

individuals. A lot of the information (i.e. occupations, residencies,

Hello. I have been using Family Tree Maker version 16. A problem with

The problem you will have with the split screen approach is that you cannot
have both "sides" opened at the same time...so you would have to "glance" at
one side...then close it and open up the side you are working on.
Another alternative approach would be to assemble a series of "screen

I can't explain why this doesn't work for others but it seems to work
for me. I get a list of 179 people. There is at least 1 event for each
of those people with Event-Description blank. I have over 2000 people

I rather think this might be a bug in the programme because I would
expect it to work and indeed the Help topic specifically says:

Good ideas, Mike. What I'd like to see is some kind of ability to see what the
"Detail" source screen will contain in SW, while I'm still working on a

I hope things calm down a bit and move on.

Nadine,
I suspect that your stepchild is only linked to you husband and needs to be

a child to have more than one set of parents.
Click the child's Parent Icon and add yourself and husband as "link to
