I'm here plugging away at my genealogy data entry. I have two
questions related to one another. I am trying to find a way to do an
ancestor tree (graphical) that shows the siblings of my ancestors on
the same tree. I couldn't find a way to do it on Legacy, and then
through to try out
Help is blank. Life is full of surprises.

Hmm... I'm surprised there's no one that has ever tried this.
I do of course want the focus to be on my ancestors, so I don't want
the sibling families... just the siblings listed along side my
ancestor.
My reasoning is because I need a visual way to see the relation
between many people

I don't think it is a case of nobody having tried it, indeed I can remember
similar sorts of requests over the years. It can be done in html, but I
can't think of a way of doing it for a chart/printing. Someone else may have
an idea though. It may be possible to create the html and use
The Help for Charting is placed in the wrong directory. It is placed in
/Legacy instead of /legacy/LegacyCharting.

Bert HAS IT! Go to your Legacy folder and copy the file
LegacyCharting.chm. Go to the LegacyCharting7 folder within Legacy
and PASTE the LegacyCharting.chm file. Help will now work correctly!!
A minor BUG but one that should be fixed - The help files ends up in

I use Charting and my help file comes up fine.
To check for updates click on Tips Updates (the last item on the
Charting toolbar ribbon)
As regards the chart you want
In Legacy tag all ancestors on an unused tag (Family View. Edit Tag
records) .
Then on the second screen Check Direct line
So you goning to tell us how?? :-)

of issues with the source writer templates and extra commas when certain fields

I am not surprised that you are confused. All I produced was a direct line
descendant chart with siblings from one earliest male ancestor. I would need to
repeat it for the other male ancestor surnames if I was interested in them.It
is not a complete chart but a series of charts. I
