For instance, when I open the program, it automatically opens to the .fdb file
on my computer's hard drive. I back up my Legacy file on a peripheral hard
drive every time I sign off from a session - back up overwrites the existing
.zip file there so I have an up to date back up "in the vault".

You would have to treat the flash as tho it were a CD or DVD, bring it
into your Legacy and edit and then save the new version on the flash.

Yes, it can. The Standard Edition of Legacy is free to use. Anyone can
install it, either from a disk or downloaded from the Legacy web site.
It is the Deluxe Edition that is restricted to those who have paid their

Hello:
I was wondering if there is any way to edit when back up on a flash drive. When
I try to access any files, I notice there is a "read only" .
Does this mean I can't ever overwrite n order to update them or when I update
through the program itself ?? Sorry, but with the last

Leo,
Thanks for the reply. I finally got my 38 MB fdb file uploaded to my
iCloud account. I then, in Legacy 7.4, used the Open Family File to
access it. With my Verizon MiFi2200 Internet connection of about 800
kbs, it looked like it would take about 45 minutes to download the fdb
file back into L
Kathy,
The reason that you don't see folks complaining about HTML on other
groups is because the other groups handle HTML in one of two ways.
The Roots.com group servers will attempt to strip out the htnl coding
before the message is allowed through their servers. Usually they are
successful. Oc
I use SkyDrive for over 2 years now without any problems. Before I
upload my legacy family file I make a backup and upload this backup
(zip file) to SkyDrive (about 20 MB family file and 40 MB multimedia
file).
