Strange that you should mention this. Just last week I came up with same
unexpected set of errors. I examined the error log and went to all of the RINs
involved. In each case, none of them were ever married so how or why a
preferred marriage record would suddenly exist is beyond me. All data loo
I have not had the problem to this extreme. I would try the following:
Reinstall Legacy over the top of your file.
Run File Maintenance-check and repair
Run File Maintenance-compact
See if the three above steps help. As a last resort, you may have to restore

When you appear to be having problems with formatting on any report,
click on the "Reset" button in the lower right corner of the main
report options window and see if that resolves the issue.

I have created a .pdf of a Source Citation Report.
Under "What to Print" I have selected the option for "Citation Summary

Also, In Options>Customize>Sources, I have checked "Include the Source List

the update. Then when you shut it down and restart it (with your "old"

I'm been running Legacy 7.5.0.208. The last two times I have tried
to update, the new file opens with the updated version and the
default .usr custom settings, rather than my customizations. When I
close the file and reopen, it reverts to 2.08 and my custom

Thanks Sherry,
I did read that in the Help Files,
Having given up on option 2, I tried option 1,
set it to 250, the Max.
It worked for that family but the 250 did not stay set after a restart.
Is there an option in the Customize window, or any where to
permanently shut off Endless Loop message?

Brian,
You might try exporting a segment of the file to another Legacy database. You
could take Abraham and his ancestry for 10 generations and work on just that
part to reduce the numbers. Then the 250 max should work to point out the
situation. If it still has endless loop, then you have so
