It's up to the church's programmers They have not released an API yet
for any of the programs to be able to transfer sources.
We can only interface with their site as they allow.

Ah! I hadn’t even thought of that. Dumb I know but I was just thinking about
exporting straight to a Legacy file and bypassing the GEDCOM. I guess I
wouldn’t the usual GEDCOM issues since I won’t be exporting the sources!

I have had wonderful success finding sources for my family history on
FamilySearch. Now my question is will it be better to put them into Family
Tree now and sync them to Legacy later, or put them into Legacy and sync
