With regard to customization settings, these are NOT overwritten with each release of version 8. Your 7.5 settings are not automatically brought over, but once you get version 8 customized to your liking, they are not overwritten by new releases, unless you explicitly tell it to reset to System

If one types in the CORRECT case of the surname, then when the “Show all caps” is used and then turned off, the same case as typed should be displayed. It may NOT always happen, that is why I never use the All caps for any surname, and there is NO rule that I shall or should, use them. Thanks
