Firewalls and antivirus programs are not the issue when MSFT makes structural changes. Legacy paths are now in Documents, so it is vulnerable to changes to within Microsoft, When Legacy was separate (version 7.5 and earlier) that was not the case. Document paths are stored in the data drive,

If you cannot update from within Legacy you can always download the FREE version of Legacy from the web site. This is the same program as the Deluxe, it is your customer number which unlocks the deluxe features. There is never a need to pay for the deluxe version a second time. Brian Kelly

Michele Morrison, When that happens and you know the program is OK, then simply reinstalling it is often enough for the security program you use to leave it alone. If not, here is an article from Legacy Support on the elements of Legacy that you may need to make exclusions in your antivirus
