Do your 2 files merge with Intellimerge? I'm not sure if it makes a difference but there are definite advantages to synchronizing the Universal ID, (UID) where 2 or more people collaborate with many shared names. I or someone could check as to whether intellimerging leaves behind an extra MRIN. --

Dennis, I have personally have 1 wife and 1 child, a daughter. I added a new unlinked Richard and gave him a new wife and new son. (3 new RINs and 1 new MRIN). When digest subscribers reply on other lists, (including the Rootsweb Legacy list), they don't know how to: Maintain the original subject, (Digest #56 is meaningless to list subscribers). Brian, Brian at Legacy answered BUT: There are several disadvantages to exporting / reimporting via gedcom. Everyone shows as IMPORTED. It might appear that you borrowed your database from someone else. Modified dates all reset. To-do list loss? I'm sure there are other drawbacks. -- Richard Van
