James, I always enter the people. I haven't really gotten into using the
To-Dos, and I started with Legacy a long time ago (before To-Dos?), so I
generally write up the hypothesis

surnames and come across ancestors that are very likely connected, but I

also use Family story G which has things like My Grandmother always
said... Now my grandmother is running at 90% and the ones I have not

That's the beauty of Legacy! It is very flexible. I've been using it since v
3 and have been doing as your first option suggests. And, over the years
I've been able to substantiate or confirm the persons and/or data I entered.
Sometimes I have deleted info/persons when I found that was

Legacy is very good, perhaps unmatched, to organize material for reports,
document fact related to known data (sources etc.), and it helps discipline
users towards better scholarship. I wouldn't say it's useless, but it's
certainly been comparatively poor support for doing research, as
