Either way Ron,
My implication is that renumbering RIN's is the best for MY use of the
database,
IN YOUR situation, I can see the trouble it would cause.
REnumbering RIN's just ensures there are no deleted id number rows and
allows for the best possible compacting of the database,

Wish I could say the same Mike :-)

Jay,
Why do you renumber the RINs.
In over 24 years I have never renumbered my RINs. Indeed to do so would change
the URLs for all my pedigree web pages which uses them as the file name, hence
rendering useless any bookmarks made by visitors and totally messing up search
engine returns.
Sorry
Perhaps that is the problem. It is rather unfortunate as I do love Legacy

But I also have 16 GB of RAM.
I have always loved Legacy for it's response time, even when handling my
database of over 225,000 persons.

Since the new release of Legacy 8 clicking does not work for me or is
extremely slow. If I want to add a child clicking will not work and I have
to use the pull down menu. If I wish to disconnect a child from it's
parents or a spouse I have to click multiple times in order to get the menu
