Sherry,
I wrote that the bug is not that a printer
driver is required. The bug is that we
only get the error msg sometimes and
even when we already have the driver
installed. If we have a driver installed,
we should not get an error msg.
BUT WE DO SOMETIMES.

Sherry,
Unfortunately, I think you are wasting your breath. Some people have
a warped idea that because something doesn't work the way they
think/want it to work, it is a bug and no one will convince them
otherwise.

As I wrote before, it is *not* a bug. There is nothing to fix. What we
use to format reports *requires* a printer driver be installed on the
computer, even if there is no physical printer, so that the report can
be formatted per the printer specs, including paper sizes that the
printer will handle.

Legacy doesn't run on Linux unless you're using a Windows emulator.
Several of our users have tested emulators and found Sun's Virtual Box
to be the emulator that works best with Legacy.

And I find no fault in that. In fact it is a plus
in that Legacy doesn't need to add
it to its own large code baggage.
I see I have Microsoft XPS Document Writer

Make sure that one does NOT have a PDF driver set as the default printer, as
this can create issues with many programs.
And if there is NO printer installed and set as the default, Windows MAY
have it set to the "G

There is no printer installed.
This problem in intermittent.
The next time, if there is a next time, it appears,
I will copy the error msg and submit here.

Jenny,
I have other programs on my computer and I have set a default printer.
But with each Legacy update, only Legacy cannot find that default
printer, my other programs can. So the problem resides within Legacy.
The solution is simple - just reboot with the printer on.

Hi Listers,
Sometimes, rarely, but sometimes
when I start up Legacy I get a msg
that I have no printer configured.
I say "so what?" and go on with
my business. Later when I want
to see a report on screen, Legacy
won't let me. Says "no printer".
Again I say to myself, "so what"
I didn't request a
