Kathy, Are you still working on this? I have a spreadsheet that I use to track
this sort of thing. Let me know if you'd like me to send it offline. Not very
automatic, but good for a quick glance. (On the other hand, I'm trying to
train myself to use To Do items...)

No, I realised that program I see to use (FTM) will do this with no problems at
all.
The only problem is having to export my gedcom, load it in FTM (making a new
tree file each time) just to view or print out a custom chart.
If I could do it all from within Legacy however.

Yes, I am wanting to make a custom chart, I often alter the size of the
boxes and adjust the default settings of what cant go in.
I've looked in the Charting help (and Legacy help) files and I can't see
where I can add specific events to be able to add them to my chart.

I wish I could say that I could help you accomplish your goals, but
unfortunately my good intentions are falling short. I've done several
charts (not a fan chart among them) and it sounds like you've done your
share of creating as well. You've also done your homework with the Help
for me is
useless
as I prefer all the events.
