The glibc version in current LFS causes a build failure when compiling
xorg-6.9 and xorg-server-1.0.{1,2}. linux/types.h cannot be included
after sys/kd.h. The glibc-2.3.6-linux_types-1.patch just committed to
patches (taken from glibc cvs commit) should fix the problem. I have

A couple small problems with the 20060402 udev bootscript. First,
since you moved the wait_for_uevents() function inline, it has to fail
with an exit rather than a return. Second, smaller niggle, is that
you reverted someone's changes renaming "hotplug events" to "ueve

To finish this thought, alpha will touch a lot of files once Chris'
dependency info goes in. The build commands are essentially the same

the only files affected, so there may not be that many conflicts.

I don't know what other packages use it, but it does locale conversion
for xterm. This works

I don't see why there should be many conflicts. Udev_update doesn't
touch that many files, IIRC. Regardless, I completely agree that it's
time the two branches got merged. Sadly, I'm unlikely to be able to
take part

luit is optional. You don't have to install it. What does it do?

Following that, I also think it is time to fold udev_update into trunk
and I would welcome some ICA results before that happens. While
