I'm using LFS 7.2 all built and is running almost fine.
I'm trying to get multiple nics with stable names. I have the
70-persistent-net.rules file set matching on mac addresses. The problem is the
file never seems to take effect.
Any ideas what might cause this? Anything in the kernel need t
disable-fsck off the e2fsprogs configure.
Many thanks here,
Mike

Just wanted to make sure as if I build without this configure option, things
seem to get built ok.
Thanks

Hello,
It seems the fsck programs for ext2 and ext3 don't get built in LFS 7.1. They
are explicitly not built by config for the e2fsprogs. Are they built/installed
someplace else?
Thanks

Hello,
I have just finished LFS 7.1 and have everything up and running. On bootup
however, I keep getting "/lib/lsb/init-functions: line 668 /run/var/bootlog: No

This starts to happen after the message "Cleaning file systems".

Hello,
I'm building LFS 7.1 from the book. I'm running the tests on glib and I'm
getting a setlocale failed error in bug-regex32.
Any ideas on this ? Ok to proceed?
Thanks in advance,
Mike--

. If it's not a symlink but a real file,
it doesn't regenerate and stays a fixed size.
How does it know this?

Hello,I have a LFS system with a read only file system. I have
/etc/udev/rules.d a symlink to a read/write partition. The
70-persistent-net.rules file gets generated and keeps on growing for every
reboot. If i make the root filesystem read/write, this file does not get
re-generated and stays
Hi,I'm on LFS 6.3 all seems to be working fine with one exception. The
/etc/sysconfig/70-persistent-net file continues to grow with each reboot. I
have 4 NICs, all the MAC addresses are in the file correctly, they all get
assigned each boot cycle to the same eth* name. But I keep getting the
