Hi all,
I just enter a trio which has a number of time changes. When I have
rests in 5/4 or 6/4 measures, like measures with whole rest or combos
that equal a whole measure lilypond reads them as one large measure and
make the dvi also that way:
6/4

becomes 6/4 r1 r1 r
Thanks for the quick responses. I did find the answer in the Organizing
larger pieces section of the manual.
Thanks,
Chip

Hi all,
I am notation a score which uses harmonics and chords for the oboe.
Is there a way I can show the fingering above the oboe part?
circles with the closed fingers in black?

Thanks, I tried it similarly before posting the original, but backwards
- I put the relative in front of the notes and it didn't work. Cool,
r1 is a rest of length 1 (= 4/4), but you want 6/4.
Try R4*6 for a single rest which fills the measure.

No, that's not possible :-(

First of all, let me say how much I love Lilypond. I downloaded it a
couple of days ago and immediately fell in love. Every other notation
program I've tried has made me rip my hair out and go back to pencil
and paper.
I do have a couple of questions, though...
When I run "lilypond", the resul
I understood from the docs that R was used for multimeasures rests.
1 is a whole note so I guess you are right I would need to have a rest
equal to 1+2 so this makes sense now.
I will check if it works in the morning.
1:30 am here,

I have got past the problems with flex and successfully
compiled everything in the lily directory. But there are
problems in the python directory:

I may have missed this in the documentation somewhere, but I can't
figure out how to get my chord symbols to print closer to the staff.
Searching the archives gave me this:
\context ChordNames {
\property ChordNames.ChordName \override #'padding = #1
... chords ...
}
but that doesn't s
